orry the promised wifi was not available. In addition, there were several unannounced visits to the caretaker on our property, which impaired our privacy. However, the location of the place was good. However, it should be noted that the amenities, including furniture and kitchen utensils, could be outdated and renewed.

very well located: 400 m from the first shops. recent bedding and good quality. unfortunately a big lack of maintenance and renewal of the equipment that dates from the '60s is felt! outdoor lights hs . same for the management of the condominium or night clutter are not managed.

Had a great week with group of boys of 9. Everything is easy to walk down from the villa. Quick communication with the host.

Too bad there are families who think it's a good plan to go on vacation in cherso.

We had a great time at the villa and overall everything was well described in and around the villa. The pool and the location were perfect, 10 min walk to the strip/beach. However, with a small slope but fine to do. In the bedrooms, the air conditioning was perfect, only in the living room there was no air conditioning. Furthermore, very satisfied with the villa and communication with the host.

The villa was better than the pictures, the rooms all had air con. Each room had a balcony which was nice, the view of the mountains was breathtaking and you can just about see the sea from the top balcony as well. The villa was only 10 mins walk away from the strip/restaurants. Plus there is a shop 2 mins walk away which helps.

About 10 minutes walk to the beach and 15 minutes walk to the old towns of Piskopiano and Koutouloufari. The villa had everything. Very clean. Great communication from hosts. Lovely pool - far bigger than we were expecting. Fantastic outdoor space with eating area, sun lounging area and BBQ. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again. The only small criticism is that we arrived late at night, and it was difficult to find the actual villa, as the name of the villa is located on the door. Perhaps a sign on the gate outside would be really useful.

for the right side, the villa is really very well located. communication with host is very good. we had no worries. on the other hand, for the bad sides, the mattresses are very dirty, and uncomfortable. I hope that the necessary will be done for the next season.

Great area, amenities and overall amazing villa

Wir waren mit der Unterkunft ganz zufrieden. Highlight ist natürlich der Garten mit dem Pool. Was anzumerken ist, dass es unten keine Klimaanlage gibt, obwohl vorher gesagt wurde, es wären alle Schlafplätze klimatisiert. Zum anderen gab es leider keine Standardausstattung wie Seife, Spülmittel, Geschirrtuch, Schwamm, Klopapier… Das Bügeleisen, welches zur Verfügung gestellt wurde, war defekt. Allgemein waren einige Sachen renovierungsbedürftig.

tolle Unterkunft für eine Gruppe von 5/6 Personen. Es könnten mehr Küchenutensilien vorhanden sein, ansonsten alles was man brauch vorhanden. Definitiv eine Empfehlung!

We never rented a villa before and this one just blew our minds)) The location is super great, groceries are very near, as well as the beach. And of course the private pool made my kids go crazy)) One warning though, especially for the families with small kids, the neighborhood is mostly filled with young people who like to party a lot. It is quiet comparing to the city area, and the house rules are quite strict concerning the partying at night. But still sometimes passing youngsters start to shout at night. Most of the time simply closing all of the windows helps to reduce the noise by 99%, but one night we had a company shouting right in front of our door at 5 am, and there was no cure against it. So it really is at the discretion of your neighbors.

We had an amazing stay here. We were 9 girls staying here (20 years old). Perfect for a friend holiday, location is perfect 5 min walk to the nearest shop and 6-7 mins to all the restaurants which are located on the sea front. The nightlife was good and only a 13 min drive into malia, but we preferred the nightlife in herssonisos. The private pool area is also perfect. The only thing I would say is that we arrived late at night and there was no water or cleaning products either which was a shame, the villa could be more equipped. But other than that would highly recommend, great value for money.

Ausstattung der Villa ist im Innenbereich etwas älter aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist gut. Ein paar Ausstattungen haben nicht funktioniert. Der Außenbereich ist mega und der Pool war sauber. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war gegen Ende eher schlechter, da keine Antworten kamen. Im Gesamten aber eine sehr gute Villa.

if you are young and some people, it is perfect. there are a few houses around with young people. only a few minutes away from the party. the outside is nice with the pool and enough space. the two beds on the floorground have no AC.

Location was great, so close to the supermarket, shops, beach and bars/ restaurants and and the villa and pool were the perfect size for all 9 of us. A few amenities such as soap and toilet paper were missing at times and only 3 rooms were air conditioned, but we enjoyed our stay and it was great value for money. Reception was extremely helpful in giving us advice about the area and found us a lovely restaurant in a smaller village a short walk from the villa for our last night. I would definitely recommend! La villa etait tres bien, propre, conforme à la description. Il existe une réception avec des gens qui se chargent de nettoyer la piscine tous les matins. L'emplacement est vraiment bien, à 10 min grand maximum du littoral, le supermarche a 5 min et à peine une petite demi heure de l'aéroport d'Heraklion.

Een prima villa, perfect om met vrienden te zitten. Het zit 5 minuten van de strip vandaan en de supermarkt is ook op loopafstand.

Stayed in Villa Aktea mid June. Staff wonderful, Vasso the manager was great sorting our transfer back to airport after Thomsons cock up! Maria took care of our villa and we again thank her. Villa is perfectly situated for walking to busy Hersonissos or for walking to old hersonissos for Monday Greek nights, book Sofas if you want a table and get there before 7pm. Scorpio beach the best place for beach 10 euros for sunbed but beach towel and iced water supplied, also lovely food. Don't miss Palmero beach restaurant, Costas could not have made our 40th anniversary any better, thank you to him, lovely spot overlooking the sea and wonderful food. Back to the villa, spacious and retains its Greek feel. Downstairs bathroom could do with shower curtain as everything gets soaked and move the washing machine out into the kitchen (plug sockets in bathrooms made us nervous) Kiddies pool too deep for our 2 year old grand daughter to stand in (think it is a converted jacuzzi) main pool is also quite deep (I'm 5'5" and had to stand on tip toe) lovely though, fantastic barbecue area and spent lovely evenings on the well lit patio - a fantastic holiday.

My boyfriend and I had a weeks stay at Villas Nine Muses mid June last year (2019) and this was our first time in Crete. We stayed in the beautiful villa ‘Irida’. Our villa had a double bedroom, a twin room, a bathroom per floor and a kitchen/ dining and living room area. There was a generous sized pool, accompanied with lots of sun loungers and a shaded terrace area. There are stunning views of the mountains and scenery surrounding the villa. It was cleaned immaculately every day by very friendly maids and the pool and garden were also maintained daily. I think our villa had been refurbished but still remained lots of character. We knew upon arrival that the air conditioning had a fee of €50 per bedroom unit but putting it into perspective it works out to be around €7 per day which seemed reasonable by us and you'll be thankful after coming inside from the scorching heat. We booked through a travel agent and our package included a hire car. The complex is about 20/25 minutes away from Heraklion airport. The roads were easy to navigate- with a little help from Google Maps. Crete is a big Island with lots of potential for exploring and discovery. The location is fantastic. We ventured out a few times to find a quieter sandy beach (20 minute drive away) and had the best day at AcquaPlus Waterpark (10 minute drive). Even though we drove to find a beach there are other beaches in walking distance. If you go down the hill from the complex there is a main strip with more ‘commercial’ and touristy bars/pubs/clubs along the seafront going towards Malia- which isn’t what we particularly come to Greece for! If you love pure, traditional greek culture and food, walking 15 minutes up from the complex you are warmly greeted to a village with greek tavernas, independent shops and supermarkets. Everyone we met were ALL so friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend tarverna ‘Patriko’, the food there was amazing!!! I think it’s important to mention that even though the villa has steps going up to the road, the walk up is very steep and the roads are bendy and narrow and may be a problem to some. Bring a torch for walking back at night and wear comfortable shoes… 
We were a little bit apprehensive about the noise complaints left on other reviews but we personally had it really lucky and had some very respectful guests beside us. Overall, our stay was a perfect balance of everything we wanted and we personally couldn’t fault our time in beautiful Hersonissos! A big big thank you to all of the villa staff!

My friends and I had the most amazing time here! The beautiful villa’s are located near the centre of Chersonnissos. Everything (restaurants, clubs and a big supermarket) can be reached within a 5-10 minute walk. The pool and house itself were wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone going on holiday with friends or family! The people who work at Nine Muses are the sweetest and very helpful (even though I have not met Antonis himself). The houses are exactly like in the pictures and the gardens are too! If you want an amazing holiday, this is a great place to book!

The villa was beautiful, clean, spacious and very good for all the ages. The hosters are very responsive and we had great time at his place.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August. Our party consisted of me and my husband and our 10 yr old son. Pros- Lovely spacious villa Nice pool area Plenty of sun beds Away from town centre Not far from supermarket Daily cleaning service for villa and pool area 15 min walk from beautiful traditional villages 10 min walk from main resort Cons- On a steep hill - good exercise for us, but those with mobility issues would struggle Biggest issue was that the owners accept bookings from younger same sex groups (boys) which surprised us as we believed it was a family oriented complex. We had 8 guys in the villa next to us who were doing what you would expect guys in their early twenties to be doing - drinking throughout the day, playing their music very loudly etc. Although they did quieten down when asked to do so, I was disappointed that I had to ask - I was on holiday to relax

I stayed at this complex in late June with a group of friends and all 6 of us agreed we had done well in picking this villa complex to stay. We arrived late at night and the security guard greeted us to the best of his ability - his English wasn’t the greatest but he made us feel welcome nonetheless. The next morning we checked in with the manager Nato at reception, and she was very friendly and very helpful. Explained how everything in the house worked, and where the safe was. Luckily for us there was no air con limit - which suited us perfectly as the heat was astonishing. We were told we could stay right up until leaving the villa (9:30pm) for an extra fee of €50 which was a very good deal. The facilities indoors weren’t state of the art, and they were a bit outdated, but for the price we paid we accepted that. But even still they were very reasonable and allowed us to do what we needed to do. The main problem with the facilities was the water - it tasted horrible and made it a pain to brush your teeth. Due to this we were unsure whether it’d be clean enough to wash ourselves in, but we bit the bullet on that one. Additionally, the curtains in the upstairs bedroom let in sunlight too easily and this affected people’s sleeping. The swimming pool was the ideal size and the garden was well looked after, with the poolkeeper coming round to clean the pool and water the grass every morning. This wasn’t a hassle as it would take place whilst the majority of us were still asleep. The garden also had a barbecue area, and the management were kind enough to leave us charcoal for us to have a go at it. For a touristic holiday the location is perfect, in an area scattered with cafes and restaurants, and a supermarket just at the top of the road boasting fair prices that won’t break the bank. For us the location was great in terms of food and drink, but we were in Crete for Malia, and that was a 2 hour walk away. This meant we had to get a taxi every night which cost us €15 each way per taxi, which isn’t ideal. I read on the description the strip was a “short walk away”. This strip is the small set of bars and cabaret clubs in Hersonissos, don’t be confused with the main strip in Malia. All in all, this was a great choice, and I would definitely stay here again. The customer service we received was very welcoming and added to our stay. The only problems for us were the cleanliness of the tap water, and the curtains in the bedroom - but these can be easily fixed, and the location of the villa but we are partly to blame for this problem. I would 100% recommend this complex to other tourists visiting Crete.

After reading the previous review I was a little worried what to expect but we had a fabulous family holiday iin Villa Epato. The staff were very friendly and helpful and although the villa was quite rustic we thought it was delightful! Be aware there is only air con in the bedrooms and you have to pay extra for it and also for the safe. The pool is kept clean and is a good temperature. The location was perfect- just 5 min walk to supermarket and the bars/restaurants or you can walk uphill to a charming village . The food everywhere was fabulous and the bars great fun with lovely friendly staff. We had lots of fun in Shenanigans where they often have live music and we particularly liked Kahlua bar and restaurant. It's not a great beach but there are good beaches nearby if you have a car. All in all we had an amazing holiday and we didn't want it to end. Enjoy!

GREAT PLACE We had a two week stay at Nine Muses in villa Efterpi from 18 June to 2 July 2017. The villas are in an excellent location – away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip of Hersonissos but near enough for an easy walk down the hill to reach shops and restaurants or further up the hill to the old villages of Piscopiano and Koutoularfouri. We had a bit of a struggle finding the villas because of road works and the directions we were given didn’t mention them. The villa had everything we needed – although a bottle of water in the fridge on arrival would have been a really nice touch. We had a 3-bedroomed villa with one bathroom upstairs and a downstairs cloakroom. The downstairs is open plan but the only time we were inside was when we made meals. There was a TV but it didn’t get switched on. Two of the bedrooms shared a balcony and the third had its own. We bought the aircon and were really glad we did as by the end of the holiday the temperatures were in the high 30s. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils etc that we needed. We used the BBQ several times. The villa was cleaned every day except Sunday by a lovely, friendly maid. The pool was lovely – it was checked and the whole area cleaned every morning by about 0830. The villas are well designed so that they don’t really overlook each other. We had a hire car – there is a car park at the back of the villas down a very steep slope – which was great and we explored a lot of the south and east of the Island. We ate out every day either lunch or dinner and would recommend: Palmera Seaside Restaurant right on the sea front, Myrtios Taverna in Old Chersonissos, Taverna Harakas in Old Chersonissos, Nautica Restaurant and Bar on the sea front and the Radio Café just at the bottom of the hill and turn right . We tried lots of places during our stay and didn’t have a bad meal anywhere. We found the best place to buy food was the ‘Spa’ down the hill from the villas, turn right and it’s at the end of the taxi rank. We did use Lidl up the road as well but you do need to drive there. We had a hire car – there is a car park at the back of the villas down a very steep slope – which was great and we explored a lot of the south and east of the Island. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone – fabulous location, lovely, friendly staff – was everything we needed. I just must also mention the mosquitoes – we were both bitten quite badly. We had brought some bug spray with us but bought some more local stuff and had plug-ins for the bedroom – be prepared!!!!!!

We stayed here in July 2017. The villas were very clean and well equipt with everything you would need, including a kettle and toaster which we found invaluable. The outside space was pleasant and well maintained, the pool was cleaned and maintained everyday. The BBQ got good use and the loungers and chairs were comfortable and in good condition. The villas are situated a 5 min walk from town, just note that they are up a hill so people with mobility issues may stuggle back up the hill from town. Otherwise the location is excellent. The pool was a great temperature, ideal to cool off but not to cold that its a shock! The bedrooms are well appointed and the bathroom was far more modern than we had expected. Overall they are lovely villas in a great location with good facilities and friendly staff. We would certainly return if it wasn't for the awful airport you have to go through in Crete.

We had a bad experience in May with a Villa so we where vary, we needn't have worried. Very friendly when we arrived, pool area clean and comfortable, in side the Villa was spotlessly clean, kitchen was well equipped, sofas and table and chairs, but we ate outside in the day at table by the pool. There where some really good restaurants in the town so we didn't eat in at night. Toilet and washbasin downstairs, upstairs three bedrooms, 1 double and 2 twins, plus a toilet, basin, bath with shower. Every morning a Man came to check and clean pool and pool area, then the Maid came in 6 days out of 7, between them they kept the place spotless. Air conditioning down stairs and in 2 of the bedrooms but has to be paid for in resort. No Internet but our Villa next to Reception and we could pic up Internet from there not always very good though. I would recommend this Villa also the area, the Villa is in a quiet area but a short walk into the lively town and beach with plenty of bars and restaurants, very nice at night to sit in one of the restaurants right by the sea and listen to the waves.

We did a lot of research before booking Villas Muses. It was perfect for what we were looking for: Spacious modern villa, generous pool and outdoor BBQ/eating area with nice views across the hill, safe area, walking distance to town/supermarket and short taxi ride for the teenagers to Malia. The owners were very receptive, flexible and helpful with our booking and our garden and house attendants were like extended family - such lovely people.

Directions to the villas was a Google map- took us a while to find it. When we did, no one to greet us. Security guard watching TV programmes with no English spoken. When someone eventually came to let us in, people from another villa complaining that their electric had gone off again. We too also had electrics problems later in holiday (and plumbing problems). To top it off, we got broken into whilst out for an evening- despite security guard and CCTV!! Too busy watching TV or sleeping? Small safety deposit box was about the only thing not touched. Even hire car taken. How did security not notice? Of interest- the villa we were moved too also had tell-tale signs of break-in via front door (door frame had been forced at some point). Although we paid for a 3-bedded villa, the 3rd bedroom had no A/C so was unusable- children had to sleep in lounge. Plus points- location excellent (10 min walk to town), Good pool and mod-cons. Villas very comfortable. On-site staff all excellent and very friendly.

We stayed in Villa Erato which has 3 bedrooms. the villa was clean and had a well equipped kitchen. The pool was a good size and the outside patio area was fantastic with plenty of sunbeds and chairs. The friendly cleaner came everyday and there were plenty of clean towels and sheets. We had a couple of maintenance issues which were sorted out quickly. good location just up a hill 10 minutes walk to harbour and restaurants. Good supermarket at bottom of road. The harbour has lots of nice restaurants on the waterfront and we also went up the mountain to Old Hersonissos which was very pretty and again good restaurants. Wish we had stayed longer than a week!!

We, a family of six adults, stayed at the premises in June. The villa was quite easy to find by car due to the instructions given when booking. Alex greeted us and showed us everything. We had a two bedroom villa which was good enough for the six of us. Unfortunately we didn´t have a washing machine as described but got to swap to a bit bigger villa after a few days so that was easily settled (they also installed a washer in our first villa later on). The pool was kept very clean as the rest of the premises. It's a short walk in to the centre and the beach. One can also go uphill towards the small villages Piskopiano and Koutolfari to get some changes. The staff was absolutely top class, very helpful, nice and kind. Alex helped us a lot having trouble with our rental car, both with help to a garage as well as getting another car at a better rental company. The only complaint is that there is no Wi-Fi in the villas, one has to go up to the old bar which is a bit of a pity.

Directions we were given took us straight to the door and Alex was very welcoming. The villa was great, only downside was the third bedroom wasn't air conditioned so the kids slept in one room although they had their own spaces. Other than that it was perfect. The staff were lovely and ever so helpful. Even though the villas are group together you are not over looked by anyone. 5 mins walk into town, busy enough for 2 teenagers but laid back for us at the same time. Everyone friendly and helpful, no drunks rolling about. Liked best - the private pool which was big enough for a good swim Liked least - can't think of one thing I'd write here

I was there with my girlfriend in july of 2013. I want to share with you that we had a really good time there. We enjoyed our stay there. The staff was extremely helpful, polite and they managed to provide for all our needs. The owners George and Zafi were really friendly and warm. The villas were confortable and clean, something that is really important to us. The villas were affordable considering the facilities and the services which were provided to us. I am 30 years old and my girlfriend is 27 years old and we definitely recommend you to choose the 9 Muses Villas for your holidays in Crete.

Ideal location, right in the heart of it, but nicely out of the way. We are a family of three, with a six year old. The villa itself is stunning, with views as far as the eyes can see! Staff are really friendly! And the owners are on hand as an when needed! The complex manager Alex was first class, always on hand, nothing was to much trouble! An asset in my opinion! We had two fantastic weeks at villa liagori...wow factor springs to mind! If I had to be critical then I would say pool lights,,) and a little noise from neighboring villas....! But all in all a great experience, that I will be repeating this year! If only for a week due to work commitments! :( 5* well done!

Had a lovely two week stay in Villa Thetis which adjoins 9 muses, private pool, well appointed and spacious villa. On the outskirts of Hersonissos and close to the village of Old Hersonissos which has a superb and traditional Greek night on Mondays, wonderful tavernas.
